Argos. Early detection, total security

Summary
Nowadays, there is a great lack of knowledge regarding how to extinguish fires in electric vehicles and, in addition, these types of fires are becoming more and more frequent due to the boom in electric vehicles in the current market.

With the aim of reducing as much as possible the damage caused, Argos was created; a fire prevention and extinguishing system based on:

- Early detection of the fire by sensing the key parameters of the electric batteries.
- Extinguishing the fire in its initial phase, when the fire has barely evolved.
- Monitoring software, capable of recording all the critical parameters of the batteries read by the sensors in real time. In addition, it makes a historical record of all these data to feed the predictive analysis algorithm, allowing a fire to be detected faster in the future.

In short, Argos has a complete system that acts in each of the key phases in the generation of an electric vehicle fire.
Foreseen impact
Argos' main goal is to protect lives and, thanks to its lithium battery fire prevention and extinguishing system, it greatly reduces the personal and material damage caused by the generation of electric vehicle fires.

In addition, the system is fully autonomous, acts instantly and monitors the installation site in real time and with historical records thanks to its monitoring and analysis software.

Finally, the materials used to extinguish the fire are biodegradable, which favours the environment and waste management.
About the solver
The Argos team was born in the IV Valenciaport Hackathon (Ceto - SpiderTech in that event) as one of the solutions for the real challenges presented in the event. The viability and innovation of the proposal led to the following awards:

- First prize IV Valenciaport Hackathon
- Prize for the most sustainable solution.

As a result, Argos was selected as a Start-Up Participant in Naturgy's Connecting Energy business incubator. 4th edition:

Currently, after its journey through the business incubator, Argos is in a pre-seed phase of its project. Seeking funding to carry out this innovative idea.
Indicative budget/Phases
It is difficult to give an exact budget without knowing the conditions and measurements of the installation site. But, assuming the area (m2) to be covered by the system, a total cost of around €93,500 can be estimated.

The phases of the project would be as follows:
- Phase 1: analysis of the installation site and proposal of the most adaptable solution (1 month)
- Phase 2: development of the product to be delivered to the customer (10 months)
- Phase 3: field testing and validation (1,5 months)
- Phase 4: installation certification process (3 months)
- Phase 5: commissioning and delivery of the software

*Please note that some phases can be carried out in parallel.
